Spring Clean Up at Imani I and II

Tired of the cold?  Tired of being cooped up in your apartment?  

Shake those cold winter blues and come to the Spring Clean up at Imani Garden.   Below is a list of some of the work projects we've got scheduled.

1. Pulverize charcoal left over from lobster dinner for compost amendment (biochar)

2. Cut up vines from old compost

3. Add soil in black bags to beds

4. Add EM-1 to compost (effective micro-organisms)

5. Raise sides of beds for root vegetables

6. Plant wildflower seeds in flower beds at edge of garden

7. Prune berry bushes

8. Cut down, cut up and compost vines along fence and on trellis

9. Repair trellis

10. Move compost from NYRP into beds

11. Clean storage tanks

12. Turn compost pile when ready.

13. Plant grass over rain garden Imani II

14. Build overflow for water storage tank Iman II

15. Clean out ponds in Imani I

16. Clean out and reorganize shed in Imani I

17. Prune trees along northern fence of Imani I

18.  Add window to greenhouse

19.  Clean aquaponic ponds and beds

If any of these or all of these interest you, or you'd just like to get your hands dirty, come on by.   

We'll be doing this on Sat. and Sun. April 5,6 and Sat and Sun. April 12,13.  Come by any or all of these days.

Who knows, one of members may even fire up the cob oven and make some delicious pizza for lunch!!
